MAHAGAMAYA AND HEEN GAMAYA
A long time ago, in a remote village, there lived two brothers. They lost their parents when they were in their twenties were still bachelors. The elder brother was Maha Gamaya and the Younger brother was Heen Gamaya. As their parents did, they too earned their living by farming Hena cultivation. In Hena cultivation the farmers first selected a plot of virgin jungle land or a land abandoned for four or five years allowing the nature to fertilize its soil again. The land selected so was called ''Hena'' thereafter, Then they cut trees and plants in it except the vary big trees. Using the same the land to protect their future crops from wild beasts. Next they uprooted the tree stumps, leaving the larger ones which needed much labour, and stached them in a corner along with the other unused logs and branches.
